Work at the Jammu and Kashmir [Images] high court and other sub-ordinate courts continued to suffer as the indefinite strike launched by Jammu Bar Association entered the 17th day today. Striking lawyers are demanding transfer of the Srinagar [Images] sex-abuse trial to any court outside Kashmir.

Though lawyers were present in the court premises, they were not attending to the cases listed in different courts, JBA secretary Abhinav Sharma said.

He said the JBA has been demanding the transfer of these cases outside Kashmir because the accused are not getting legal counsels there and atmosphere there is also 'hostile'.

"Lawyers of JBA are on strike to protect the faith of the people in the judicial system. We want that rule of the law should prevail," he said.

The association will continue the strike till their demand of transfering the sex scam case from Srinagar to Jammu or any other place for a 'fair' trial is not conceded, Sharma said.
