A woman activist of Lashkar-e-Tayiba was arrested along with her accomplice even when the army seized a big cache of explosives, detonators and improvised explosive devices in the border district of Kupwara on Wednesday.

A defence spokesman said here that a major jungle hideout of militants was busted by the army from which 100 kg of explosive material believed to RDX, 124 detonators and 14 IED's were recovered. He however said no militant was present in the hideout when it was "detected and busted".

Jammu and Kashmir [Images] police meanwhile arrested an over-ground woman worker of frontline LeT along with her accomplice identified as Aamir Malik from village Lam Audoora Mawar near Handwara in Kupwara district.

A spokesman of the police in Srinagar [Images] said the two had gone to attend a meeting of the banned militant outfit in Mawar village on Thursday.

Arms and ammunition recovered from their possession include one pistol. A local cop and a civilian bystander in the meanwhile were injured in a powerful grenade explosion in Anantnag town on Wednesday evening. The injured were taken to hospital.
