"The service of the trans-national Samjhauta Express is being resumed from today," a railway official said.

The decision was taken after consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of External Affairs and railway officials of Pakistan, another official said.

The bus and train services between India and Pakistan were suspended temporarily for security reasons in the wake of the developments in the neighbouring country.

Meanwhile, no decision has been taken on the resumption of services of the Thar Express.
