A Border Security Force jawan allegedly committed suicide on Thursday by shooting himself with his colleague's rifle at Abdullian border outpost, 45 km from Jammu.
B B Thappa, a barber in the force, took his colleague's gun from the barracks and shot himself in R S Pura sector of Jammu district, officials told PTI.
Police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem, they said adding, that they were yet to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step.
