Upto 386 polling booths in Jalandhar district have been identified as sensitive, the district election officer said on Monday.

"We have identified hyper-sensitive and sensitive polling booths in the district and arrangements are being made for violence-free polling," District Election Officer Venu Prasad told PTI in Jalandhar.

Polling in the 10 Assembly constituencies in the district is scheduled for Tuesday.

The district will have 1,351 polling booths for 13,61,195 voters, he said adding, 41,186 new voters were enrolled recently and 38,550 voters deleted from the list due to different reasons.

Poll materials were being handed over to the appointed poll officers and adequate security arrangements have been made to deal with any poll-related violence, he said.
