The serial blasts led to tension in the summer capital Srinagar on Saturday evening and conicide with Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee's arrival in Islamabad for talks with Pakistan President Parvez Musharraf and foreign minister Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri.

A senior police officer in Srinagar said militants tossed a powerful hand grenade inside a paramilitary central reserve police force camp on the Boulevard road, injuring three CRPF personnel.

The injured troopers were taken to hospital for treatment. CRPF soldiers and police searched the area on the banks of Dal Lake.

Minutes later, militants threw a grenade at a CRPF bunker outside a cinema hall presently being used as a barrack by the paramilitary forces.

"Five civilian passers-by were wounded in the explosion. They were taken to hospital where attending doctors described their condition as stable," said a police officer.

In the third explosion, three CRPF soldiers were wounded, when militants attacked a posse of the paramilitary with a grenade at Eidgah in downtown Srinagar. The injured were taken to hospital.

Police said the blast sites were searched but no one was arrested. No group has yet taken responsibility for the string of explosions.
