EC transfers 22 officers in Gujarat

The Gujarat government has transferred 22 officers on the orders of the Election Commission for administrative reasons, and has assigned election-related work to five of them.

The officials shifted were among those who had completed three years at one post or had been working in their native place. The transfers were announced last evening. Among the five shifted officers who have been assigned election-related work is K Soman, executive managing director, Alcock Ashdown. He has been made district planning officer, Surat.

Another officer C R Kharsan, deputy municipal commissioner, Vadodara, has been shifted to the post of additional collector, Ahmedabad. J G Hingrajia, executive officer, Gujarat Municipal Finance Board, Gandhinagar, has been transferred to Surendranagar as additional collector. He has been assigned election-related work in the Rajkot district.

Another officer P H Solanki, chief executive authority, Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority, Gandhinagar, has been made notified area officer, Alang Sosiya Notified Area Office, Bhavnagar.

R B Barad, director, District Rural Development Agency, Ahmedabad, has been transferred to the post of chief executive officer, Vadodara Urban Development Authority, and has been assigned election-related work there.
