Bhartiya Janata Party leader M Venkaiah Naidu said the party is closely watching developments in Andhra Pradesh after Chiranjeevi floated a party.
He ruled out any alliance with the new party.
"All opposition parties must come together during the polls. But it is not necessary that those who vote for us in the Lok Sabha would vote for us in the Assembly," he said.
He said nothing much should be read into party chief L K Advani's [Images] meeting with the actor recently.
Asked about the massive turnout, he said, "It was the launch. So many curious people would have also come. But the real strength will be known at the second public rally," Naidu told reporters in New Delhi [Images].
"It will be wrong to compare Chiranjeevi [Images] with NTR. That time there was a vacuum. Which is not the case now," he said.
