Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh, who was once hounded out of 10 Janpath soon after the United Progressive Alliance government took over four years ago, triumphantly announced on Tuesday that the National Security Advisor M K Narayanan would call on him at his residence on July 2 to explain the government's position on the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.

"He will come and explain his position. I have got telephonic information from Narayanan's office," he claimed. He refused to make a statement on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's [Images] statement that he is willing to face Parliament over the nuclear deal.

"I am not here to make a policy statement on Dr Singh's statement. I had half an hour-long meeting with the Left parties and whatever facts I have gathered from them so far, I do not feel there is any need to change our stand both inside and outside Parliament. The biggest danger to this country comes from communal forces and we must keep them out of power," he added.

He charged that more than Mulayam Singh it is Mayawati who has many skeletons hidden in her cupboard, which includes Taj Corridor. He praised the Left parties for supporting the UPA government for four years.

Amar Singh said that his late night meeting with Pranab Mukherjee was more of a courtesy call than anything else.
