Security outside the residence of Shiv Sena Lok Sabha member from Parbhani, Tukaram Renge Patil, has been beefed up following his absence during the trust vote.

"Right now, there are over 3,000 supporters outside our residence and their number is much more than those of the policemen," the MP's son Balasaheb Renge Patil said over phone from Parbhani in Marathwada region.

Renge Patil's 'disappearance' since the past four days has become a controversial topic. "I am sure, I will be speaking to him either tonight or tomorrow," he said.

"Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray had also called me and asked about my father's whereabouts," Balasaheb said.

"I last spoke to my father at around 9 am on Saturday and he told me he had reached Mumbai and was going to attend the party MPs' meeting on the trust vote," he said.

Renge Patil was the lone MP missing at the meet. Since then he has been incommunicado, even for his family members.

Asked if the family had approached police to trace his father, Balasaheb, who is divisional chief of Sena's students' wing, the Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena, said he was confident that he would be speaking with the MP shortly.
