Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai on Monday but transport systems were largely unaffected and no major incidents of water-logging were reported. The meteorological department said its Colaba station in south Mumbai had recorded 249.7 mm of rainfall while its Santacruz station in north-west Mumbai recorded 154.5 mm of rainfall over 24 hours till 8.30 am on Monday.
Though some low-lying areas of the city and suburbs were water-logged, it did not affect the flow of vehicular traffic, civic officials said.
However, suburban rail services on the Western and the Central Railway routes were delayed by about 10 to 15 minutes due to heavy rains, but were operating without any hindrance, railway officials said.
Operations at the city's international airport were also largely unaffected, a spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when their slums collapsed in the Rabale camp area of north-east Mumbai, civic officials said adding that both of them are out of danger.
