Extending the interim relief granted to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray [Images], a court in Klayan on Friday asked the Government Railway Police not to arrest him till November 11 when his anticipatory bail application in a case of destruction of property comes up for hearing.

Kalyan Sessions Judge K K Tantrapale passed the order after the prosecution sought time to file a reply on Thackeray's anticipatory bail plea.

The judge directed the MNS leader to abide by the conditions laid down Wednesday while granting him interim relief and to present himself before the Kalyan railway police as and when required.

The GRP had on October 22 sought the custody of Thackeray in connection with the destruction of property case registered at Kalyan but his lawyers said they had already sought anticipatory bail following which the court granted the MNS supremo interim relief till October 24. Thackeray's lawyer has, however, filed for exemption.

Special public prosecutor Rohini Salian argued that Thackeray's presence was required when the court was hearing his bail application.

The court then asked Salian if Maharashtra police was ready for this as on Wednesday several slogan shouting MNS activists had forcibly entered the court premises.

The court will on November 11 decide if Thackeray's presence was required during hearing.

Thackeray was arrested on Tuesday in connection with assault on north Indian candidates appearing for railway recruitment exams allegedly by MNS activists on October 19.

The Thane police produced Thackeray before a magistrate's court in Kalyan on Wednesday where he was granted bail on a bond of Rs 15,000 in that case.
