TDP leader Santosh Reddy shot dead

Santosh Reddy, a senior ruling Telugu Desam Party official, was shot dead by members of the outlawed People's War Group in Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh. His body was found on the Banswada-Piltlam road on Friday, police said.

The PWG had summoned Reddy, a former Mandala Praja Parishad president of Banswada, to their forest camp on Thursday.

The police suspect the problem may have been over some money the slain Praja Sakthi Naxalite leader Durga Goud had entrusted Reddy.

Suspected PWG activists also torched a government jeep at Jeedangi village in east Godavari district and blasted a forest range office at Chintapalli, in Visakhapatnam district early on Friday, the police said.
