New judge for Babri trial in UP

Justice D K Trivedi will preside over the three-judge special bench of the Allahabad high court hearing the title suits of the Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi dispute. Justice I P Vashist and Justice Rafat Alam are the other two judges of the special bench.

Earlier, Justice A P Mishra headed the bench. He was elevated as chief justice of the Delhi high court in July.

The special bench, which is in the process of recording evidence, is expected to resume the recording of witness's statements this month. There has been no sitting of the bench since May.
