Nagaland Congress leader shot dead

Unidentified gunmen shot dead Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee joint secretary Throngshi Yimchunger at his home in Tuensang on Friday, official sources said in Kohima on Saturday.

Throngshi, who was unwell and bedridden, was shot thrice by at least five gunmen.

Chief Minister S C Jamir expressed shock at the incident and described Throngshi as ''an upright and valiant public worker'' who always tried to give his best to the people. Nagas have lost a promising leader, he added.
