Separate Kodagu strike call evokes good response

The strike called by the Kodagu Rajya Mukti Morcha, demanding statehood for Kodagu, evoked good response and was peaceful today.

Additional Director General of Police (law and order) T Madiyal said that vehicles were off the road and shops and business establishments closed in many parts of the district.

Reports said schools and government offices functioned with thin attendance.

The KRRM has been demanding a separate state, alleging that the district had been neglected.
