Wild elephant electrocuted

A wild elephant, responsible for killing four people, was electrocuted on Wednesday night as it touched a live wire while on a rampage at Dhoramsal in Meghalaya.

Official sources said on Thursday that four people had been killed by the tusker in West Garo hills during the past one month.

''Wild elephants have started moving towards the human habitation because of wanton destruction of forests,'' the sources added.
