B M Oza's Bofors to be translated into Marathi

The Rs 640 million Bofors ghost is in for a rude awakening, what with former Indian ambassador B M Oza's Bofors, The Ambassador's Evidence being translated into Marathi.

Oza, in the preface to his book, confidently states that the then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi received kickbacks in the deal. "I was restless because I was not allowed to share the information and evidence available with me. I wanted to write the book with the permission of the then prime minister, Narasimha Rao. But he advised me to wait until my retirement from the foreign services."

The book, which contains detailed information and relevant papers in support of the charges against Gandhi and Quattrocchi, has created a furore in political circles.
