3 cops, 1 civilian killed in Karnataka mob violence

Three policemen and a civilian were killed and several injured in mob violence at Hungampalli village in Kolar district of Karnataka on Monday.

Violence erupted following differences between two groups which clashed and indulged in stone-throwing.

When the police intervened, the mob turned its wrath on them, forcing the former to resort to caning and and bursting of tear-gas shells.
