Three new districts in UP

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to create three new districts -- Bageshwar, Champawat and Baghpat.

According to an official spokesman, Bageshwar will be carved out from Almora district, Champawat from Pithoragart and Baghpat from Meerut.

The state cabinet approved the creation of Ghanghata and Mehdawal tehsils in Kabirnagar district, Kapkot in Almora and Tambhua in Sultanpur district.

The cabinet also decided to include Kabirnagar district in Basti division.
