14 electrocuted during religious fair in Kanpur

Fourteen people were electrocuted and six hurt when a high tension electric wire snapped at Shivrajpur, during a religious fair.

Eyewitnesses said one of the youth, who had climbed the roof of the community centre, accidentally touched the high tension wire overhead. There were sparks and the wire broke. The youth jumped off the roof to safety, but 14 people sleeping on the roof were electrocuted.
