On Rediff QnA, you also earn points every time you ask questions; give an answer or comment on answers. However there are certain regulations you need to abide by when you use this service.

  Guidelines to follow when Asking Questions
  • Complete the question:
    Please post question in the correct/complete format only. Do not post incomplete questions.
    Example: The sky is …
  • Be descriptive
    Please be descriptive. Do not post questions in one or two words.
    Example: MBA correspondence?
  • No signatures
    Please do not post your name or links to websites, which are not specific to your question.
    Example: Which is the best MBA course through correspondence? Regards Sanjay http://www.mysite.com
  • Categorize your question
    Please choose the correct category for your question. This increases your chances of getting more relevant answers.
    Example: A question like “Which is the best MBA course through correspondence?” should be assigned to the category “Education” and not to category “Careers”.
  • Be nice to all
    Please be nice to all. Do not post questions which may hurt the sentiments of an individual or community.
    Example: I think person XYZ is completely stupid. What do you think?
  • Do not chat
    Please do not post personal messages or chat with the users.
    Example: Good Bye! I am going now OR Hey Raja! How are you?
  Guidelines to follow when Answering
  • Don’t know, don’t answer
    If you don’t know the answer to a certain question, do not attempt to answer it. Please do not attempt to even affirmative answers in such cases.
    Example: I don't know OR I agree with Sumit.
  • Complete the answer
    Please answer completely. If required, also cite the source of the answer. However do not answer in just one or two words.
    Example: Mornings are fine.
  • Do not cross question
    Please do not cross question a user. If you have not understood the question, go to the user’s profile page and seek further explanation.
    Example: What do you mean by that?
  • Cite your sources
    If the Internet is the source of your answer, please give it the appropriate credit by providing a link to the same.
    Example: The current price of Rediff stocks is 1993 and is expect to rise further, please hold this stock and do not sell. Source:http://money.rediff.com/money
  • Don’t get personal
    If you find a certain question to be too basic, do not attack the user. We all have certain questions that need answers.
    Example: If a question is “How does one make orange juice” do not attack them with answers like “that’s such a dumb question”.
  • Report Abuse
    If a question seems irrelevant or pornographic in nature; report it by clicking “Report Abuse”.
  Things you should do
  • Post relevant questions.
  • Help others users by sharing your knowledge and providing correct answers.
  • Comment on answers if you find them good.
  • Be nice to all. Be polite and respect opinions.
  • Keep the place useful, clean and friendly by “Reporting Abuse” if you spot something offensive.
  Things you should not do
  • Attack a particular user or user group.
  • Harming or hurting minors with irrelevant actions.
  • Seeking personal/private information from other users.
  • Using the Q&A platform to solicit others.
  • Post violent, frustrating on angry remarks.
  • Insult, threat and abuse any user.
  • Post illegal content or information.
  • Post advertisement or any other information for commercial purpose.
  • Create multiple accounts and try to game the system/earn more points.
  • Report abuse on purpose.
  • Pose as a different user for any purpose.
  • Post links to websites which are not useful as a source to your answer(s)l.
  • Post links to porn sites, warez, cracks or any other illegal sites (like unauthorised mp3 downloads).
  • Asking for information about illegal activities.
  • Involving in personal chats and communications.
  • Asking for same information repeatedly.
  • Posting of same information again and again in answers/comments/messages.
  • Using languages other than English
