"The candle was lit, but not able to burn brightly in the breezy room. As all looked at the flickering flame, it seemed that it told their story, of trying to overcome obstacles…"

I bet you're wondering what's so special about this sentence! Well, for one it's been written in exactly 60 seconds. And for another, it's the first thought that came to someone's mind when given the word 'candle'.
Welcome to oneword.
The idea is simple. You'll see one word at the top of a page and all you have to do is write the first thoughts that your mind associates with it. You have 60 seconds to do this, so only the most spontaneous of your thoughts stand a chance.
You can view your submission along with the others on this page. Each day throws up a new word. Keep jogging your memory or relive forgotten moments, ignited by that one word!
Color Quiz
"Egocentric and therefore quick to take offense."
That's me. Or rather, that's what my favourite colours say about me. Most of us don't know that there's more to colours than just what we see. They reflect mood, affect behaviour and influence us in many ways. Don't believe me? Take this personality test and find out for yourself.
Based on a research by Dr Max Luscher, the test uses the principles of colour psychology. In other words, it records your response to various colours to determine your emotional makeup at any point of time. The test may be taken once or a dozen times, and each time it will generate accurate even if different results, depending on the current state of your emotions. Aspects that keep repeating themselves may reflect deep-seated emotional conflicts.
If you are impressed with the success of the quiz, go ahead and forward it to your friends!

Milon's Memory
It's never easy to forget the loss of a loved one, but to remember that person with the same pain and poignancy even after twenty years deserves mention.
Milon Buneta died twenty years ago. This blog is a running obituary by his friend Bernard Lane. Lane explores Milon's life through his own memories and by getting in touch with people who knew him. The details form part of the posts that make up the obituary.
In one particular post Bernard mentions making an Internet search for the name of the cemetery where Milon was buried. To his own surprise, he finds that the cemetery has a site as well as a search facility. "I typed Milon's name in and there appeared his details and a map giving the location of his grave. It was so unexpected and chilling," writes Bernard.
Maybe some memories are better left alone.
