How Net savvy are you on a scale of one to ten?
I'd give myself a six because I'm good at surfing but am still trying to fully figure out my computer that I just got in August.
What do you enjoy doing online?
I love emailing and chatting, but my favourite is scanning pictures and sending them to friends. I surf for about an hour or two daily, depending on whether I'm in town and free. I also have pictures from webshots.com as screensavers. I'm keen on trying to trade stock and download some music too!
Any favourite sites?
Being a photography freak, I use webshots.com and underwaterphotography.com for work and usually check out rediff.com for the news!.
What's your idea of a perfect Web site?
One that fulfils the purpose for which it was put up, and is easy enough for a layman to navigate. Good visuals and simple directions are a must.
What do you like most about the Internet? What do you hate most about it?
The best thing about the Internet is its functionality as a communication tool. It truly has made the world a very small place.
What I hate about it is that a lot of info on oneself gets posted, passed around and results in junk mail. Also viruses can be a bother.
Is there something you'd like to buy or sell online?
I like to buy books and magazines from Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble, but I don't really want to sell anything via the Net.
Do you use the Net for work?
Yes. Definitely. I'll be doing an Israeli film in Jan, and we stay in touch over the Net and discuss the finer details of the film online.
Do you indulge in ego-surfing?
I don't ego surf. There are many things online that I find more interesting than myself (I spend too much time with myself anyway).
Have you thought of putting together your own Web site?
It's been on my mind and someone has also offered to do it up for me but I'd like to have a few more films under my belt before that. When it does come up, I'd like it to have a lot of colour and enable me to chat with my fans whenever I can.
What's your favourite Web-based gadget?
My Web Cam. But I don't use it as much as I'd like to, because the friends I chat with don't have them! Have been trying to convince them to buy it.
Any strange experience online?
The only experience I found strange (or sad depending on how you look at it) was when I thought I had received an email from a Spanish chick (subject line was in Spanish) and hurriedly opened the mail (maybe it contained naked pix of her?) and it turned out to be a virus! It totally screwed my computer and I had to erase everything on my comp and reload it. I've stayed away from Spanish chicks ever since.
If you could change anything about the Internet, what would it be?
I would take off all the sex sites online!
