Michael Schumacher triumphed not only over the opposition but the weather gods as well to cruise to his second consecutive victory this season. Overall, this was his sixth consecutive victory. It is the first time in 48 years that a driver has achieved the feat. Alberto Ascari, who hold the record for nine consecutive wins, was the last man to do so.
