US Open 2001

No. 1 seed Martina Hingis needed only 42 minutes to cruise past Daja Bedanova of the Czech Republic in their quarterfinals match.

On Aug. 6, Hingis became just the fourth player to hold the world's No. 1 ranking for 200 weeks, joining Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert. Hingis was the 1997 US Open champion.

Martina Hingis (SUI) defeated Daja Bedanova (CZE) 6/2, 6/0.
