5. Serena Williams

Serena Williams was the first of the Williams' sisters to win a Grand Slam.

Since that moment though, it's been Venus all the way.

Power tennis got a new meaning in the women's game when Serena was blasting her opponents off the court.

Reached at least the quarter-finals of all Grand Slams she took part in 2001. The Australian Open will most probably be no different though she has big things on her mind.

As she declared in 2001: "My goal this year is to reach my goals."
