Indian juniors sent packing

Indian juniors had a bad day at the French Open on Sunday, all of them bowing out of the singles.

In girls' singles, 14th seed Sania Mirza lost to Heidi El Tabakh of Egypt 6-1, 6-4, while Sanaa Bhambri crashed 7-5, 6-2 against Marine Giraud of France.

In the boys' singles  Somdev Dev Varman lost to Leonardo Kirche of Brazil 1-6, 6-3, 4-6.

Earlier, Karan Rastogi lost in the first round of the boys' quailfiers.

But all the four still have hopes left with doubles action starting today.

In the girls', wildcard Sanaa Bhambri and Sania Mirza will face the French pair of Virginie Ayassamy and Laura Thorpe while sixth seeds Somdev Dev Varman and Karan Rastogi will face Jerome Becker and Andreas Weber of Germany in the boys' doubles first round match on Monday.
