Nikhil Kanetkar lost his second round match in the Olympic badminton singles event in Athens on Tuesday.

The Indian southpaw lost to�former world champion and sixth seed Peter Gade of Denmark 10-15, 6-15.

Kanetkar had beaten�Sergio Llopis of Spain in the first round.

Late�on Monday night,��Abhinn Shyam Gupta was beaten in his first round match. He lost to the�fancied Park Tae Sang of Korea 12-15, 0-15.
