A heavy downpour cut short the second day's play in the US $1.21 million Carlsberg Malaysian Open being played at the Saujana Golf and Country Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Grabbing the club house lead were Korea's Sung-Man Lee and Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand, both placed at seven-under 137 after 36 holes.

While Lee returned a card of four-under 68, the Thai pro submitted a card of five-under 67 and were lucky to finish their round before rains played havoc.

India's Jyoti Randhawa had improved his position to tied-25^th. The 32-year-old who was tied for the 57^th spot overnight after a round of level-par 72, was two-under after 13 holes when rains forced the golfers to return to the clubhouse.

Amongst the other Indians in fray, Amandeep Johl and Arjun Singh were both tied for the 60^th place and were level par nine and six holes respectively. Jeev Milkha Singh had also finished his front nine without losing any stroke to be tied for the 75^th place and joining him was Harmeet Kahlon who dropped a shot after six holes. Vijay Kumar was lying a lowly 124^th after dropping a shot in six holes.

According to information, Jyoti Randhawa played some good golf. Making his first birdie on the par-5 third hole which is the longest of the holes measuring upto 603 yards, the former Asian PGA Order of Merit winner gained a stroke on the par-3 fifth. After a bogey on the par-5 seventh, Randhawa was prompt in restoring the stroke with another birdie on the eighth thus taking the turn at two-under and parring his way till the 13th.
