Top seed Rohan Bopanna will get a chance for revenge on Peter Clarke of Ireland after the top two seeds advanced to the final in the third leg of ITF Satellite tennis tournament in Gurgaon on Friday.

In doubles, second seed Ashutosh Singh and Jaco Mathews upset top seed Bopanna and Vijay Kannan 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 to clinch the title.

Both Bopanna and Clarke, who beat the Indian in the second leg, posted straight set wins at the National Tennis Academy courts.

While Bopanna saw off Nitin Kirtane, winning 6-3, 7-5 after a tough battle, Clarke never let his guard down against Vinod Sridhar, winning 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-finals.

Bopanna began in similar fashion like in his quarter-final against Kamala Kannan, and ran away with the first set against Kirtane in quick time.

But Kirtane was in no mood to quickly throw in the towel as he fought his way back to 5-5 in the second set before losing out.

In the other semi-final, Clarke scored crucial breaks in both sets to make it look easy though fifth seed Sridhar proved a tricky opponent for the Irishman with his court craft.
