Indian cueists came back from behind to upset favourites China 2-1 in the semi-finals of the Asian Open Invitational Snooker Championship in Shinjhen, China.

They will now face Thailand in the summit clash on Sunday.

Manan Chandra displayed fine skills but failed to overcome the challenge of Ding Junhai in the opening rubber but his fighting spirit rubbed off well on his two experienced teammates.

Former IBSF world champion Pankaj Advani [Images] levelled the score for the Indians when he beat Jian Zhong 3-1.

National and Asian Champion Alok Kumar then kept his nerves in a keen tussle to beat Jin Long 3-2 to take the tie and the match.

Alok, however, could not show the same form in the bronze medal play-off in the individual event and went down 1-4 to Paithoon Phonbun of Thailand.
