India lost to six-time World champions Brazil [Images] in straight sets to finish fourth in their pool after the second round of the Youth World Volleyball Championship in Mexico.

The Indians went down 22-25, 23-25, 13-25 to finish behind Argentina, Iran and Brazil in Pool E. They will now take on Poland in the play-off for fifth to eight positions.

India started the match with a solid block exhibition through towering Mandeep Singh and Sukhdeep Singh to lead 16-13.

However, Brazil showed consistency after a time-out and went ahead 23-21 before pocketing the set after an Indian unforced error.

The Brazilians continued their fine form in the next two sets as well and walked away with the match after 70 minutes.

Mandeep top-scored with 15 points amid the defeat.

This was Brazil's first win after defeats to Iran and Argentina.
