Sania Mirza showed no sign of rustiness, marking her return to the courts with a straight-set victory over Catalina Castano of Columbia in the first round of the WTA Tour event in Pattaya, Thailand, on Monday.
The fifth seeded Indian ace, who took a break after the Australian Open, thrashed Castano 7-6 (1), 6-0 to advance to the second round of the US $170,000 hard court tournament.
