Veteran Mansher Singh could not hold his nerve in the final round and had to settle for a bronze, while world champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu finished a lowly fifth in the individual event as hosts India managed to bag the men's trap team silver in the Asian Clay Shooting Championship in Jaipur on Saturday.

In men's individual event, the top two positions were bagged by Kuwait's Abdul Rahman Al Faihan (144 points) and Naser Mgled (141).

Faihan, a member of Kuwait's World Championship record-holding team, was third till Friday. But he fired 23, 25 and 23 to grab the gold with a score of 144.

Naser, who was in lead after three rounds, fared badly in the fifth round scoring 19. But he raised his performance in the final round and shot 24 to win the silver.

Mansher was in second position overnight and he had finished his five qualifying rounds with 120. But he scored only 18 in the final round to finish with 138 for the bronze.

Manavjit and former world champion Khaled Al Mudaf were tied at 134 after the final round but Manavjit prevailed in the tiebreaker to take the fifth spot.

The team gold went to Kuwait (354), while India (343) -- consisting of Mansher, Manavjit and Birendeep Sodhi --  took the silver. The bronze went to Chinese Taipei (320).
