Anand, Arvind in semis of Bitburger Open

Three Indian shuttlers, including national champion Chetan Anand, cruised into the singles semi-finals of the Bitburger Open badminton tournament in Germany [Images] on Friday.

Fourth seed Chetan thumped 10th seed Lithuanian Kestutis Navickas 21-10, 21-17 in 24 minutes.

Arvind Bhat defeated compatriot 16th seed P Kashyap 21-15, 17-21, 21-15 in a 53-minute fiercely-contested match.

In the women's singles, Aditi Mutatkar spanked German Carola Bott 21-13, 21-10 in just 27 minutes.

Meanwhile, the mixed doubles pair of V Diju and Jwala Gutta defeated fifth seed Denmark duo Rasmus Bonde and Helle Nielsen 21-14, 21-13 in 24 minutes.
