Apart from its Chaugaan, Chamba is famous for its Chamba Rumal. This traditional craft has been executed for almost 1,000 years in this region. The art was probably started by the womenfolk to while away the long winter months. At Lalita Vakil's training centre young girls learn the craft as it was practised in royal households.
