The exquisitely painted and bejewelled Issarji and Gauri are in reality ancestral heirlooms. There is a history behind these idols. This Issarji was captured from the Jaipur royal family and brought to Kishangarh about 1750 during the reign of Maharaja Bahadur Singh of Kishangarh. This was considered a Rajput act of bravado.
