• Ravindu Shah (when on 3) became the fourth Kenyan to aggregate 1000 runs in LOIs. Playing in his 39th match, he now has 1031 runs (avg. 26.44). The other Kenyans with over 1000 runs are: Steve Tikolo (1545 runs in 57 matches), Kennedy Obuya-Otieno (1366 in 55) and Maurice Odumbe (1239 in 56).
• The partnership of 75 runs between K Obuya-Otieno & Shah was Kenya's fourth best for the first wicket in LOIs. Incidentally, Kenya's top four opening partnerships have come twice against Bangladesh and India respectively. For the record, Kenya's best for the first wicket against India still remains as the 121 runs between the same pair at Port Elizabeth on 17-10-2001.
• The above partnership of 75 runs was Kenya's best for the first wicket in the World Cup. The same pair had put on 66 runs against South Africa at Amsterdam in the 1999 World Cup.
• K Obuya-Otieno with 322 runs in 11 matches has now scored maximum runs for Kenya against India. Ravindu Shah had previously the best aggregate of 302 runs (in 10 matches) against India.
• K Obuya-Otieno's 79 was his best against India bettering his previous best of 64 at Port Elizabeth on 17-10-2001.
• K Obuya-Otieno now has the highest score by a keeper against India in the WC. Zimbabwean Andy Flower had made 68 not out at Leicester in 1999 World Cup.
• Javagal Srinath (309 wickets in 225 matches) is now the highest wicket taker for India in LOIs. He went past the tally of 308 wickets (in 241 matches) by Anil Kumble. Kumble had held the record since 28-1-2000, when he surpassed Kapil Dev's then record 253 wickets.
• Thomas Odoyo with 9 wickets (11 matches) now has the maximum tally by a Kenyan bowler against India. He went past the tally of eight wickets of teammate Maurice Odumbe. 
• The partnership of 84 runs between Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid was India's best for the fourth wicket against Kenya bettering the previous best of 41 (unbeaten) runs between Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh at Paarl on 24-10-2001.
• The match-winning partnership of 118 runs between Ganguly and Yuvraj was India's best for the fifth wicket against Kenya bettering the previous best of 55 runs between Ajay Jadeja and Vijay Bharadwaj at Nairobi Gymkhana on 29-9-1999. Incidentally, this is the best stand by any team against Kenya in the World Cup. Zimbabweans Alistair Campbell and Andy Flower had put on 66 runs at Taunton in 1999 World Cup.
• The Ganguly-Yuvraj stand was the best by any team against Kenya for the fifth wicket in LOIs. South Africans Hansie Cronje and Jonty Rhodes had put on 101 at Nairobi Gymkhana on 3-10-1996.
• The above stand was also the best for the fifth wicket at this ground obliterating the previous best of 108 runs between Pakistanis Inzamam-ul Haq and Younis Khan against the home team on 18-12-2002.
• This was Ganguly's 21st century in 225 matches. Now only Tendulkar (34 100s) has more in LOIs. Ganguly went past the tally of 20 hundreds by Pakistani Saeed Anwar, who now moves to the third position in the all-time list of batsmen with most hundreds in LOIs after Tendulkar and Ganguly.
• This was also Ganguly's 10th hundred as captain in 96 matches. He equals the LOI record held by Jayasuriya, who also has 10 hundreds in 112 matches as captain.
• Ganguly who is the only captain in LOIs to score a century (111 at Paarl on 24/10/2001) against Kenya, registered his second in five matches as captain.
• The five wins in a row in this tournament equals India's best run in the World Cup. In the 1987 World Cup India had won five matches in a row from 14-10-1987 to 31-10-1987.
• This was Ganguly's 27th man of the match award of his career in 225 matches and his third in the World Cup in 14 matches.
