Aravinda D'Silva is one of the batsmen rated to do well in this tournament -- but today, he seemed as rusty as the others, time and again pushing at deliveries outside off with bat away from body.

Alan Mullaly deserves full credit for his dismissal, tormenting him with a lovely angle across the right-hander and both-ways movement off the seam. A thoroughly confused Aravinda finally pushed at one, off the front foot, that was short, lifting and seaming, the regulation edge finding Thorpe at first slip.
