Expelled Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti has warned that she would wrest power from the "hypocrites" who did not follow ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi [Images] and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. Alleging that the BJP is now a mere "photocopy" of the Congress, the firebrand sadhvi said, "Just like the Congress forgot Mahatma Gandhi, the BJP forgot Pandit Upadhyay. Gandhi aur Upadhyay ko na manne wale pakhandiyon se main satta chheen kar rahoongi (I will wrest power from those hypocrites who don't follow ideologies of Gandhi and Upadhyay)," she said Monday at a public meeting inĀ Rahatgarh, Sagar. The sadhvi is undertaking a Ram-roti padyatra to Ayodhya.
6 BJP MLAs expelled: Uma issued show cause notice
Uma, who was appointed party General Secretary just days before her expulsion, claimed that she never nursed greed for power and added that the General Secretary's post was higher than that of chief minister.
In the context of Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan's appointment, she said, "It would have been an insult to ideology if I accepted the change of guard decision, which was bereft of policy. I will never accept intrigue but will always be dedicated to loyalty, good conduct and faith."
Earlier, the yatra received a tumultuous welcome as it entered her home territory Bundelkhand. Miss Bharti was born at Tikamgarh district's Doonda village.
