President A P J Abdul Kalam will meet Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi on Friday to discuss his controversial decision to install a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led government in the state.

Kalam will meet Razi in New Delhi at 1845 IST, official sources said.

Razi's decision to invite JMM chief Shibu Soren to form the government when the rival National Democratic Alliance appeared to have numbers in its favour has led to protests all over the state and in Parliament.

According to sources, Kalam has decided to seek an explanation from the governor after meeting him.

The president met 41 Members of Legislative Assembly of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance from Jharkhand on Thursday evening.

In an earlier development, the National Democratic Alliance had paraded 41 MLAs before Razi. However, the governor disregaded the NDA's claim and invited Soren to form the government.
