Top seed Nikolay Davydenko of Russia [Images] on Wednesday pulled out of the Chennai Open ATP tournament and Australian Open [Images] Grand Slam owing to an injury to the heel of his left foot.
Davydenko, who reached the second round of the season starting prestigious event, told reporters that he was suffering from the injury for last about two months but was not in pain so much as he felt it here.
The Russian tennis star said he would also miss the Australian Open -- the first Grand Slam of the season -- beginning January 19.
