Well played, Sri!

Srinath was always considered very good, but never great. Some say he lacked the killer instinct that is considered essential for great fast bowlers. He was just too genial, they said.

Srinath's philosophy was simple: "If you are fielding at the boundary and the crowd is trying to work you up, you don't go attack them. You wait for them to tire, and after some time silence will reign."

Maybe that was also his way of playing cricket.
