The Bangla Bomber

Under coach Dav Whatmore Bangladesh are surging forward.

Already, in the space of six months, the minnows of the game have had two big scalps in India and Australia.

Ashraful was the cornerstone of those victories.

The talent and determination is clearly visible, but what is lacking are the statistics, which he needs to work on.

In 27 Tests, he averages 23.68 for 1,184 runs, while in ODIs he has scored 1,007 runs in 52 matches, at 20.98.

A little consistency from him could well see his and Bangladesh's fortunes soar in the coming months.
